Had my first lesson of yoga (alone) and Kickboxing (with Melissa)...OMG my body is aching all over. I feel so sleepy. My legs weighs a ton.
Yoga Started with some breathing techniques plus 3x of "ouming" which goes like oum...oum...oum... & the instructor used some "god knows what" language to guide us to other positions. So i kept peeking at others to follow suit. She ask me if i was a beginner i told her "yes". So she kind of guided me along. She asked me to join the beginners class instead as the other students already had some basic of it already. Then halfway thru, the bomb shell came --- To do a headstand. Please lah, my first lesson lor...do head stand...wanna break my neck arh...In my mind i was like "shit" So what i did was just sit there & look at others performing there formidable neck strength. After that was some other positions which i think only snakes can do it--Turn here.. turn there. In the end, it ended with 3x of ouming again. That concludes the yoga session. Honestly, i am quite uncomfortable with the ouming.
Kickboxing No warming up exercise at all. Straight into boxing movements which we had to follow this canto pop music. Super fast music lor. As if catching a bullet train. Some of the students had some background so the steps was nothing to them...but 1st lesson for me, had to punch here & there, kick here & there, gotta follow tempo plus memorizing steps, WTH....think all students superman arh....After 15 mins, i asked melissa whats the duration of this class."I still had 45mins more!!!" I was like left foot & left hand moving together, so clumsy. Then i took a quick glance at other students, same like melissa & me, had difficulty in catching up. Then i saw this lady which i find it rather amusing, she looked like she is going to collapse any moment, the expression was so funny...I almost burst out in laughter. After 50mins, comes the warming down exercises. Super straining on the abs.
Conclusion Even thou it was very tough, i had a good experience, but for this week, i will not sign up for any lesson until my aches are gone. No one said exercise was easy, thats the price u have to pay for fitness, health and most important, body image.
